Bac Ha Phở includes the main ingredients such as: Pho, finely chopped raw vegetables, pickles, sesame peanuts, Thai filet mignon, vinegar water made from fresh fruits and chili mixed with processed peanuts according to traditional method. Pho is mixed with spices just enough to create a distinct taste of upland noodle soup, especially strange to new people.

Black glutinous rice cake is made of traditional sticky rice with large round seeds, both fragrant and flexible. The black color of the cake is made from the ash of the melon tree. Trees are dried, burned into ash and finely ground.


Ban Pho Corn Wine
One of the specific culinary characteristics to try in Bac Ha is Ban Pho maize wine. This is considered as specialty of H'Mong and Dao people in Ban Pho and Bac Ha plateau.

This wine has a passionate, charming aroma, not harsh, not sour. In order to get this characteristic flavor, Ban Pho wine has been cooked from corn every year with only one season in remote mountainous areas, along with water taken from Hang Dieu spring and especially cotton-enamel of Hong Mi .
According to the Mong people here, drinking Ban Pho wine in the morning will have more strength, drinking in the evening will tighten friendships. Ban Pho corn wine is not only full of passion and love but also imbued with the sweat of the people.
