Although the project was approved in 2016, until the end of 2019 the plan to build an 18-hole golf course in Lao Cai was signed by the Deputy Prime Minister approving the investment policy. This project is part of the planning for the expanded Lao Cai border gate economic zone. The total capital approved by the State to build this golf course is more than 500 billion VND. The project is expected to change the face of the province and bring a huge breakthrough in economic development.

The golf course project in Ban Qua commune, Bat Xat district, Lao Cai province was approved and expected to be constructed within 24 months from the start date, scheduled to be completed before October 1, 2021. This golf course is invested by Fansipan Sa Pa Cable Car Service Company Limited. This is also the company that operates the famous Sun World Fansipan Legend cable car project that attracts millions of tourists to this city every year.

Specifically, the 80ha allowed by the State to build Bat Xat – Lao Cai golf course is planned to be allocated as follows:

About 2.3 hectares is reserved for golf course construction

About 38.6 hectares are reserved for forest landscape construction

About 7.7 hectares is reserved for technical infrastructure construction

About 3.8 hectares are reserved for water surface construction

About 1.3 hectares is reserved for parking lot construction

About 0.6ha is reserved for building a clubhouse

About 0.8 hectares is reserved for construction of auxiliary buildings.

Although the golf course in Bat Xat, Lao Cai has not yet been completed and put into operation, golfers in Vietnam have been interested in this location since information about the project first appeared. With the typical temperate climate of the high mountains, prime location and outstanding landscape, this place promises to be a destination for many domestic and international golfers as soon as it comes into operation.

Golf course located in Bat Xat district, the Northeast side of the golf course borders the Red River, the Southeast side borders the 35m road in the town center, the Northwest side is fertile land and residential fields and the remaining side – Southwest borders Kim Thanh road – Ngoi Phat (provincial road 156). This area is also adjacent to resettlement areas 2 and 3 of the district. Thus, it can be seen right from the geographical location of the land in this planning that it fully meets the ideal conditions for building a golf course, including natural landscape, typical hilly terrain and close proximity to the golf course. Convenient residential area for development of accompanying services.

When officially put into operation, the golf course in Lao Cai will certainly impress tourists and golfers with its characteristic natural landscape. With an altitude of over 2000m, golfers will experience games or competitions in a cool, temperate atmosphere, with little interruption from bad weather such as intense heat.

Along with the golf course in Bat Xat district, Lao Cai also has one more golf course project approved for construction investment. That is the Bac Cuong golf course expected to officially start construction at the end of 2021.
