Ban Lien commune is blessed with a cool climate and soil suitable for developing tea plants.  Even the oldest people in Ban Lien don't know when Shan Tuyet tea trees have been in this land.  Many tea roots are hundreds of years old, growing on the steep slopes, every year people come to collect them, bring them to drink fresh, dried stars to market or as gifts for guests.

The tea tree has been grown for a long time in Ban Lien, there are times when people do not care, so let the weed grow overgrown, many  dead tree.  After additional planting, should have tall trees and low trees.  Moreover, due to the sloping terrain and limited cultivation techniques, people do not pay attention to planting in line.  Therefore, tea trees here grow naturally, do not take care, improve, so low yields.

Thanks to its high altitude, suitable climate and soil, it is of high quality. The brewed tea has a beautiful green color, sweet taste and natural aroma, which is popular with consumers. In 2019, Bac Ha organic tea produced by Ban Lien Tea Cooperative was certified by the Central OCOP Council as the first 5-star OCOP in Lao Cai.

Interspersed between the village and the terraced fields are palm trees creating interesting and unique highlights, creating a very unique picture of the mountainous region in Bac Ha. In this area, there is a very beautiful old palm hill. According to indigenous people, these palm trees are hundreds of years old. In the tea fields, people also plant palm trees with palm leaves spread out as big as umbrellas. Get shade and use it for roofing stilt houses. In addition, palm trees can also be used to cook soup as above.
