The Prime Minister has just decided on the investment policy of the Sapa Airport Project, assigning the authority to the People’s Committee of Lao Cai province to implement it in the form of a public-private partnership, with a total investment of nearly 7,000 billion VND.

It is expected that the project will be divided into two phases: Phase 1 (from 2021) to build Sapa airport up to the standards of a grade 4C airport and a grade II military airport with a capacity of 1.5 million. passengers/year;

Phase 2 (after 2028) focuses on completing the project’s items to reach a capacity of 3 million passengers/year, ensuring compliance with the planning.

The capital structure of the project is partly mobilized by investors over 4,200 billion VND, the rest is 2,700 billion VND from the State capital (of which the local budget is self-balanced and other lawful sources of revenue are more than 2,100 billion VND). ).

According to the Prime Minister’s Decision, People’s Committee of Lao Cai province is responsible for all information and data in the Pre-Feasibility Study Report of the Project;

Organize the implementation of the project in accordance with the approved planning and relevant laws.

Immediately after the Decision is issued and takes effect, the Lao Cai Provincial People’s Committee must also complete and publish the notice inviting the project survey;

Select qualified investors, ensure compliance with the law, publicity, transparency, quality, efficiency, on schedule, absolutely no negative events, waste.
